Our group is pleased to share that we will take part in the 1st Japan–Germany Frontiers of Engineering (JAGFOE) Symposium, which will be held from November 25 to 28, 2025, in Tokyo, Japan. This inaugural bilateral event, bringing together exceptional early-career engineers from Japan and Germany, aims to promote scientific exchange, present current advances in engineering research, and support long-term academic collaboration.

Under the central theme
“Advanced Materials and Systems for Sustainable Society,”
the symposium explores the development of sustainable materials, innovative engineering systems, and their practical implementation in society.
The scientific program addresses these topics from two complementary viewpoints:

Bottom-up, focusing on new materials with advanced functionalities and their transformation into technology

Top-down, driven by the requirements of next-generation engineering systems that guide material and structural design

The program has been designed by an international organizing committee consisting of two researchers based in Germany and two in Japan. This first edition is co-chaired by:

A total of 30 leading early-career researchers from academia and industry will participate, representing a wide range of engineering disciplines and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between the two countries.
