Participation in the Mechanical Computing Meeting 2025 @ Amsterdam

May 23, 2025

On Friday, May 23, 2025, our team participated in the Mechanical Computing Meeting 2025, held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This meeting brought together leading experts to discuss the rapidly growing field of mechanical computing and mechanical learning.

We are proud to share that Dr. Aniket Pal contributed to the event with a presentation titled:
“Mechanical Computing in Multistable Metamaterials.”

The meeting highlighted the surprising resurgence of mechanical computing in recent years and the emerging concept of mechanical learning. Mechanical systems offer a unique platform for developing in-materio computing, providing new perspectives on memory effects in complex mechanical materials such as crumpled sheets. Moreover, the distinctive properties of mechanics open promising routes toward ultra-low power computing.

This workshop successfully connected these diverse approaches, fostering interdisciplinary discussions and paving the way for new innovations at the intersection of mechanics, computation, and materials science.
