Soft Intelligent Machines Group

Welcome to the Soft Intelligent Machines Group! We are a group of researchers working on soft robotics, embodied physical intelligence and mechanical metamaterials. Our research is interdisciplinary - at the intersection of mechanical engineering, materials science and robotics.

We are part of the Institute of Applied Mechanics (MIB) at the University of Stuttgart, with affiliations to the International Max Planck Research School for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS), Stuttgart Centre for Simulation Science (SC SimTech), and the Center for Bionic Intelligence Tübingen Stuttgart (BITS).
